eChinese Essential is a secondary level online program that is specially designed for 6-12 grade students who are second language learners of Chinese. It is structured into six volumes, Novice I, Novice II, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, Advanced I and Advanced II.
eChinese Essential provides teachers with authentic teaching materials with PowerPoint presentations, exercises and assessment sheets. It provides students with fun games and real-world projects as their summative assessments for selected units to help students gain real language application skills in simulated situations. Students can practice Chinese in three modes: Interpretive, Interpersonal and Presentational. In addition, students can develop their language skills in the ACTFL five goal areas: communication, cultures, connections, comparisons and communities. Throughout, this program enhances students’ ability in the four language modalities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
eChinese Essential platform includes digital multimedia teaching material, supplementary teaching resources and application tools, as well as a teaching and assignment management system. It is designed to meets the needs of teachers' teaching, students' post-lesson exercises and independent learning. Teachers conduct online teaching through the platform, assign homework or learning tasks to students, and are able to view and keep track of student learning and homework completion. Students complete the homework and learning tasks assigned by the teacher and submit them online.
易 · 中文课程，是一套中学程度线上课程，专门为中文作为第二语言学习者而设计编写的教材，适合6-12年级的传统中文项目的学生。课程包括六个级别，初级教材I，初级教材II，中级教材I，中级教材II， 高级教材I，高级教材II。
易 · 中文课程为教师提供根据真实题材编写的教学材料，内容包括 PowerPoint 演示、练习和测验。为学生提供有趣的学习方式，以生活实例作为相应单元的总结测评，帮助学生在模拟情境中获得实际的语言应用技能。学生通过“双向沟通、理解诠释、展示表达”三种模式练习中文，在 “沟通、文化、联系、比较和社区”ACTFL五个外语学习目标领域培养语言技能。易 · 中文课程，全面提高学生“听、说、读、写”语言学习与应用能力。
易 · 中文平台，包括数码多媒体教材、辅助教学资源与教学应用工具，以及教学与作业管理系统，满足老师的线上教学、学生课后复习与自主学习需要。老师可通过平台完成线上教学工作，或发布作业或学习任务给学生，在线查看学生学习记录，了解学生学习及作业完成情况。学生在线完成老师发布的作业或学习任务，并在线提交给老师。
